“Take it up and read” is a loose adaptation of the Latin phrase Tolle Lege, a phrase popularized by St. Augustine’s Confessions.
The intent of this blog is to write about topics that hopefully contributes to thinking about and discussing the things that are worthwhile (Philippians 4:8).
More on Tolle Lege and the website name
Most translations have it as “take up and read”, which would have been first choice. However, the domain takeupandread.com costs R37 000 (as of 13 September 2023), so I added the word “it” which reduced the cost by about R36700.
